Windshield Ceramic

I’ve been getting some questions about ceramic coating for windshields and whether it’s worth the investment. Before you decide to use a product, it’s vital to understand what it does, how it performs, and its longevity. Ceramic coating on your windshield makes it more hydrophobic, resisting certain chemicals, dirt, grime, and water.

I’ve applied a coating to my Silverado and found it effective even six months later during a rainstorm. However, the lifespan of the coating can vary depending on factors such as rainfall frequency, the use of windshield wipers, and the type of cleaner used on the windshield.

One thing to note is that ceramic coating won’t protect against rock chips – it’s not designed for that. If you’re concerned about rock chip protection, we offer Windshield Protective Film (WPF), a specific film that provides this added protection without affecting visibility or causing glare.

As for the longevity of window ceramic, it’s a tricky question. The lifespan can vary greatly due to variables like rain frequency. But the good news is there are plenty of high-quality ceramic coatings available for your glass. You can even apply them yourself.

We use two products in our shop, one from G Technic and another that I’ll link below. Remember, the real value in protecting your windshield is ensuring the safety of you and your family, especially in rainy conditions. So consider these factors, do your research, and make the decision that suits your needs best!
