Is Ceramic Coating Insurable?

As Tim from Divergent Elite Detailing, I’d like to share an insightful experience from a customer question received on AskDivergent.com.

It’s all about one of today’s hottest car care trends: ceramic coating. A client recently asked if their insurance would cover the reapplication of ceramic coating in the event of an accident.

Case in point: a 2023 Corvette Stingray we treated with a five-year ceramic. Afterward, the unfortunate happened—the owner had a crash that required a panel replacement. We helped the client by providing an original invoice and a reapplication estimate to submit to the insurance company. The good news? The insurance paid up. From what we’ve observed, insurers seem receptive to this, but always double-check with them.

If you’re a Divergent client, we’ve got you covered with the necessary paperwork. If not, contact your detailer to obtain what you need. Insurance claims can be a hassle, so make sure to file those documents, or just reach out to us for help. Did this answer your query or do you have more questions?
